Cyril Mulon

Lighting Designer, Filmmaker & Photographer, Mulon’s eclectic experience includes creating for theater and film for well over a decade. A graduate from the prestigious film school Louis Lumière in Paris, France, passionately fond of images, he started his career in the movie industry (advertisements, musical video, telefilm). Mulon’s portfolio encompasses documentaries on many stage artists including Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara, French director Claude Régy, french pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard and clarinetist Michel Portal. He has designed video projection for French theater director Jérôme Savary and served as the director of photography for numerous concert films at La Salle Pleyel and at the Cité de la Musique. Mulon also serves as assistant to distinguished French film, documentary and theater lighting designer Martial Barrault. In 1998 Mulon joined the technical team of internationally renowned director Peter Brook. His career with Peter Brook spanned over a decade with numerous international tours. Since 2003, Mulon has served as the company lighting designer for French African director Hassane Kassi Kouyaté with whom he has created and collaborated on numerous theater works. Mulon has also designed lights for French theater directors Hubert Koundé, Steeve Brudey and opera director Stephan Groegler. Discovering the world of contemporary dance with American choreographer Stephanie Batten Bland, Mulon has since collobrated with distinguished Berlin/French choreographers Sébastien Ramirez and Honji Wang, French choreographers Bintou Dembélé, Jann Gallois, Johanna Faye and Saido Darwin.  He serves as WKcollective’s lighting designer and technical director.
